Syncronized CoDiS PMUs
We are connecting two of our 18 channel CoDiS PMUs enhanced with synchronization hardware for measurements on two locations separated by more than 100m.
This synchronized and easily expandable setup enables us to simultaneously measure 36+ channels, while retaining portability and all of the advanced features of CoDiS.
Introducing new CoDiS WRM unit
Introducing new product in CoDiS family of condition monitoring products - CoDiS WRM (Wireless Monitoring Unit). New CoDiS WRM is a wireless rotor monitoring unit consisting of rotor and stator component.
The WRM enables real-time data streaming, even at 50 G-force and is powered by excitation current. Standard Data Analysis Tools include rotor temperature monitoring, excitation current and voltage, rectifier diode failure, rotor insulation resistance, air gap and magnetic field.
VESKi presents 2 expert papers at HRO Cigré Session
HRO Cigré Session, a major industrial event dedicated to energy system management brought together more than 1500 experts. VESKi team presented two papers on the topic of "Diagnostic Methods for Determining Cause of High Vibrations of Hydrogenerator Stator Core" and "Mechanical Impedance in The Diagnostics of End-Winding on the Basis of Continuous Vibration Measurement".
Dynamic Behaviour of Hydro Units in the RZL - Hydro2019 conference
VESKi's CEO Ozren Oreskovic presented paper with case studies on Hydro 2019 conference. The paper "Dynamic Behaviour of Hydro Units in the Rough Load Zone" was written by Ozren Husnjak, Ozren Orešković and Franjo Tonković. The paper deals with issues on Francis turbine hydro units during Rough Load Zone operation (RLZ). By using CoDiS online monitoring system, data was collected continuously throughout machine operation and through several different case studies. The result is a conclusion that the hydrodynamic pressure pulsations are often the consequence of vibrations, not their cause.
CODIS PMU - portable vibration monitoring unit is again in action
Veski CoDiS-PMU (Portable Monitoring Unit) 16 channel device is again in action!
This time we measured vibrations, air gap and magnetic field on a 30 MW Francis unit. The unit suffered from pronounced magnetic unbalance. The PMU worked together with CoDiS-PDS (Portable Diagnostic System) software as a valuable diagnostic tool to help detect and correct rotor geometry issues. Our goal was to obtain an answer to the question about what should be done during the unit's overhaul.

VESKi won 4th consecutive HydroVision award on Hydrovision International 2019
At HydroVision International 2019 in Portland USA VESKi and our partners from IRIS Power presented two joint papers on the topic of Thermal Expansion Impact on Vibro-Dynamic Properties of Bulb Hydrogenerators and Dynamic Loads in the Rough Load Zone of Hydro Units.
This year, for the 4th time, VESKi's paper won HydroVision award. Our technical paper "Thermal Expansion Impact on Vibro-Dynamic Properties of Bulb Hydrogenerators" won 2nd place in 2019 Technical Papers of the Year - Operations and Maintenance. This award is a testament of VESKi's dedication to expanding knowledge and expertise in vibration analysis and condition monitoring of hydro units.
At VESKi Monitoring Academy you will learn how to turn data into insights
Last week we held VESKi Monitoring Academy training at the largest HPP in Croatia. Training included theoretical and practical training on machine condition monitoring , data interpretation and diagnostics.
Training also included connecting our fully modular and portable CoDiS PMU (Portable Monitoring Unit) to a 3rd party equipment installed at the plant. Data gathered by the CoDiS PMU was later analysed by the plant's engineers during hands-on session.
Data-driven report for smarter maintenance strategies
This week our experts measured resonant frequencies of fan blades, moving part that is vital to smooth functioning of the generator.
Technical report included detailed measurements and concluded that all blades are well within established operating parameters. These data based reports and expert conclusions enable our clients to achieve smarter strategies for power plant maintenance.
Successful 5-day CoDiS training at Hydro Tasmania
VESKi Experts held a 5-day course on CoDiS Portable Monitoring Unit (hardware) and CoDiS Portable Diagnostics System (software) for engineers of Hydro Tasmania.
After delivery of two CoDiS Portable Monitoring Units earlier this month, VESKi organised three days hands-on measurement training, and a two days theoretical and analytical course on vibration and air gap measurements analysis.
Hydro Tasmania engineers are now trained to use CodiS PMU, a perfect solution for periodic shaft and bearing vibration monitoring on generators and motors.
VESKi experts taking part in unit overhaul
During the major recent unit overhaul VESKi experts partook in disassembly and re-assembly of CoDiS monitoring system sensors. This included proximity probes, accelerometers and various additional sensors to cover critical machine components.
Beside typical vibration measurement probes, system was additionally customised for end user to include concrete forces measurements in the upper guide bracket region and lower bracket thermal expansion measurements.
The pump storage plant located in the EU generates 185 megawatts (248,000 hp) when producing electricity and uses 180 megawatts (240,000 hp) when pumping water.
Two new PMUs delivered to our client
We are just conducting final quality control of two 24-channel PMUs (portable condition monitoring systems) that will soon be delivered to our client.

Last week we were on Faculty of Electrical Engineering, Computer Science and Information Technology Osijek attending Student Career Days, networking and having a conversation with young engineering talents.
We are looking forward to returning to Osijek and holding a short seminar to students!

Uspješno održan seminar Veski monitoring akademije!
29.05.2018. u hotelu Aristos održan je još jedan seminar na temu monitoringa hidroagregata, u sklopu programa edukacije – „Veski monitoring akademija“.
Glavni dio predavanja bio je na primjeni novih standarda (ISO 20816-5, ISO 19283) u monitoringu i procjeni stanja hidroagregata.
Stručnjaci poduzeća Veski predstavili su brojne primjere iz prakse, koji se direktno vežu uz najnovije standarde i trendove u pristupu monitoringa hidroagregata.
